Blame it on lockdown. Seriously.
Well, I always had some artistic tendencies and would grab a sketchbook or watercolours occasionally when the time would permit. When the lockdown happened last year I embarked on the journey to create an altered book art journal. It all started well, and it is a project that I completely cherished.
I named it ‘My Garden”, found that lovely fabric, and customised its hardcover. Then I started to create pages with different mixed media techniques. Yet, the truth is that a year later there are still some pages to finish. Definitely on my to-do list for 2021! Here are some of my finished pages.

….and then it started!
I guess I can blame it on YouTube too. Researching various mixed media techniques, I stumbled on how to make signatures, how to eco dye paper, how to do different types of covers, how to distress pages, what are ephemera, and of course how to make junk journals.

And before you know it, the very first journal was completed.
The little pocket-size cheerful sunflower journal. …

And shortly afterward there were three……..
…..and then there was more …….

……. until there were many!

I discovered that I love creating them, but there were too many of them to be used by myself only. The best way to cherish my journals is if they are all cherished by someone who will use them for their special memories and sake-keeping. So that is how Brigitartycrafts came to be.
